100 Women of McIntosh County is a coalition of like-minded women united by a shared desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who call McIntosh County home.
Our journey began at a Women Encouraging Success (WES) event at Sapelo Hammock Golf Course, where we were introduced to the Coastal Communities of Georgia Foundation and the powerful concept of giving circles—groups of women who come together to create significant local impact through collective giving. Inspired by what we learned, several of us volunteered to explore how we could establish a similar organization dedicated to supporting McIntosh County.
From that first conversation, a steering committee was formed. Drawing on our diverse knowledge, skills, and experiences, we collaborated around a single goal: to make meaningful financial support more accessible to our community. McIntosh County is uniquely blessed with barrier islands, rivers, marshes, and bluffs and plays a vital role in Georgia’s coastal economy. While these features make our county special, they also naturally divide us into smaller communities. Within each of those communities are women with incredible resources, talents, and passion—all that was missing was a connection.
Individually, we seek ways to help others. Together, as a giving circle, our contributions become a powerful movement. In January 2025, 100 Women of McIntosh County was born. Today, we serve as a partner, a connector, and a source of opportunity for local charities, churches and nonprofit —helping them grow, thrive, and meet their most pressing needs.
